What Is The Glycemic Index Of Pineapple Juice?

Shira from Philadelphia Pennsylvania would like to know what is the glycemic index of pineapple juice? According to the research our staff has done, the glycemic index of one cup of unsweetened canned pineapple juice is 46. For one cup of fresh homemade pineapple juice, the glycemic index is 39. Obviously fresh pineapple juice does not contain all of the preservatives and additives that canned pineapple juice will contain, and thus fresh pineapple juice has a much lower glycemic index. I highly recommend fresh pineapple juice over store bought varieties, because it is substantially healthier for your body, and can be prepared in as little as five minutes.
